The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a 27-year-old man in Lisbon on Tuesday suspected of raping a 24-year-old woman, which allegedly occurred on Friday, in Amadora, the police said this Wednesday, October 15th.
“The events occurred following a meeting at the home of an acquaintance, where the victim, a childhood friend of the suspect, was forced by him to perform significant sexual acts, through violence and serious threats. Despite having struggled, the victim succumbed to the physical superiority of the attacker, deciding to formalize a complaint with the PSP, which immediately contacted the PJ, as it was a crime within the reserved jurisdiction of this police”said the PJ in a statement.
The victim, the statement adds, was taken to a hospital, “where she received medical care and underwent sexual examination by the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences (INMLCF), and traces were also collected at the scene of the crime”.
The suspect will be subjected to judicial interrogation to apply coercive measures.
